Bibliothèque François Mitterrand (BNF)

Paris Impressionist Workshop 2

We Parisians refer to the Bibliothèque François Mittérrand as the BNF (which stands for Bibliothèque Nationale de France). With its large openings by the Seine and modern architecture, this location offers broad perspectives and open skies that urban romantix souls will find delightful to paint.

After deciding which view to focus on, you will start painting. Whether you are a beginner or not, don’t worry! Our artist-instructor will perform a simple demonstration to get you going. All you have to do is paint what you see! As you get deeper into the reproduction of what is seen, you will explore mass, structure, color management and composition.

At the end of our session, you will have achieved one painting study focusing on shapes and skies, and you will have discovered a different Paris, one which is not on classic postcards. It will help you hone your observation skills and gain confidence painting in public. You will also benefit guidance by an expert on how to further develop your creativity, depending on skill level and creative path.

Please remember to dress according to weather and temperature.
